JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The #9 New Jersey City University women's wrestling team hosted its only home duals of the season this evening, Friday, Dec. 15, at the John J Moore Athletics and Fitness Center. The Gothic Knights were victorious in their first two matches against Alvernia University and Utica University, but would unfortunately fall in their last match to #17 East Stroudsburg University.

Izabella Frezzo (East Rutherford, N.J., Becton Regional) went a perfect 3-0 on the day, including a 10-0 Tech Fall at 116 pounds against the #8-ranked 116-pounder in the nation on ESU. Junior
Claire Daity (Bloomfield, N.J., Bloomfield) also finished the day with two wins, one at 136 pounds and the other at 143 pounds. The Gothic Knights won seven individual matches on the mats at Charlie Brown Court, five of which were taken by Pin Fall.

The Gothic Knights will return to action after the New Year, with a trip to the University of Northern Iowa on Jan. 5 for the first day of National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duels on the calendar.
