NEW YORK — For the second consecutive week, seniors James Bajor (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) and Daniel Esteva (Union, N.J./Union) of the New Jersey City University men's volleyball team were selected as the Skyline Conference's Player of the Week and Libero of the Week, the conference announced today, Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Bajor, named New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 13, helped NJCU men's volleyball post a 2-1 record – and nearly a 3-0 mark – over the weekend at the Arcadia University Tournament in Glenside, Pa. The co-captain started off with nine kills, seven digs, four total blocks and an ace in the four-set win over Baruch College on Saturday, Feb. 11. Then, in the Sunday, Feb. 12, early match – a five-set win over Eastern Mennonite University – he notched a team-high 13 kills, nine digs, five total blocks and another two aces. Finally, in the last match of the weekend – a tough five-set loss to host Arcadia – he notched a team- and career-best 24 kills on 50 swings with four errors (.400) to go with a match-high-tying 13 digs and a team-high-tying six total blocks. It was his first double-double of the season and fifth of his career.

Esteva led NJCU with 35 digs (2.50/set) this past weekend at Arcadia. He also finished 65-of-67 on serve-receive (.970) and dished out eight assists. Esteva began with a match-best 10 digs and five assists in Saturday's four-set win over the Bearcats, followed by another match-high 14 digs and another assist in Sunday's five-set win over the Royals. He closed out his weekend with 11 digs and two assists in the tough five-set loss to the hosting Knights.

This is Bajor's third-career SKyline Player of the Week hoor and his second of the season. For Esteva, he now has five Skyline Libero of the Week honors, including a pair this season.
