PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released its 2022-23 All-Conference awards for men's track & field today, Wednesday, March 1, following the 2023 Indoor Championships, which took place on Monday, Feb. 20, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Facility. New Jersey City University senior
Dave Etienne (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) represents the Gothic Knights as a two-time Second Team selection after placing second in both the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.
Already a five-time All-NJAC selection over his career between the indoor and outdoor championships, Etienne once again earned All-Conference honors today. He began with the 400m race and finished as the runner-up with a time of 48.48, the third-fastest time of his career. Etienne currently ranks 11th in all of Division III with his personal record time of 48.17 from earlier this season and is currently slated to compete at this year's NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. Later on at NJAC Indoors, Etienne finished as the runner-up once again in the 200m with a time of 21.72, which was just .01 off of his program-record-tying time of 21.71 from earlier this season.
Overall, Etienne is now a seven-time All-NJAC selection between indoors and outdoors. In the 400m, he was a Second Team selection at Outdoors last year and a Honorable Mention honoree in 2020. In the 200m, Etienne was a Second Team selection in 2020, as well.
Up Next:
Etienne and the rest of the Jersey City track & field program return to action this weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, for the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships at The Armory in New York. This will be the first time the Gothic Knights compete at these championships.
