MARIETTA, Ohio — The New Jersey City University baseball team collected eight hits and 11 total baserunners on Friday, March 17, but was unable to convert offensively against Johnson & Wales University. The Gothic Knights fell to the Wildcats, 13-0, in seven innings as part of the Marietta College/BSN Invitational.
Three different pitchers for the Gothic Knights (4-5) had tough days on the bump, however, senior outfielder
Bryan Fernandez (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) was a bright spot at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double. Five other NJCU players collected hits and a total of seven reached base safely 11 times, but unfortunately NJCU was unable to turn those baserunners in runs against JWU (4-3) in the loss.
