Men's Tennis Lands Two on All-NJAC Squad

Ley, Teynie Both Nail Down First Team Honors in Singles and Doubles

PITMAN, N.J. — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released is All-Conference teams for the 2022-23 Men's Tennis season, and a pair of New Jersey City University men's tennis student-athletes nailed down accolades. Juniors Nico Teynie (Rouen, France/Lycée Val de Seine) and Alejandro Ley (Las Palmas, Spain/I.E.S. Politécnico) each picked up First Team honors in both singles and doubles play.

For Teynie, he is now a three-time First Team All-NJAC selection in both singles and doubles play. A two-time NJAC East Player of the Week this season, Teynie was ranked as high as #12 in all of NCAA Division III and #4 in the Northeast Region in 2022-23. He amassed a 15-8 overall record in singles play, including a 10-5 dual match mark, playing exclusively at #1 singles. Teynie was 2-1 in NJAC play, as well. On the doubles side of things, the team captain was 17-5 overall, including an 11-5 dual record, again exclusively at #1. Primarily, he paired with Ley at that top doubles spot and the pair went 11-2 together, including 2-1 in NJAC competition.

For Ley, these are the first career All-Conference nods of his career. Overall, he amassed a singles record of 13-6, including 12-5 in dual match play and a 3-1 mark in the NJAC, while primarily occupying the #2 spot, going 10-5 there. A one-time NJAC East Player of the Week this season, Ley also ammased a 14-8 overall mark in doubles play, including a 3-1 in NJAC play and 12-2 at #1. Again, he primarly paired there with Teynie as the duo went 11-2.
