Men's Wrestling Takes on TCNJ on the Road

Johnson Picks up 10th Victory of the Season

EWING, N.J. — The New Jersey City University men's wrestling program squared off on the road on Saturday, Jan. 20, against #12-ranked The College of New Jersey. NJCU emerged victorious at 157 pounds behind fifth-year team captain Jeff Johnson (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) and nearly won at 149, as well. In the end, however, it was the hosting-Lions that came out on top, 46-4.

Two highlights on the day came from sophomore Zack Vera (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) at 149 pounds and Johnson at 157. Vera fell to his opponent in a tight one via a 6-5 decision. Johnson extended his all-time program leads in wins and major decisions, topping his foe, 13-0.
