WESTMINSTER, Md. — The New Jersey City University men's wrestling team competed in its second road dual in as many days on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 6, as the Gothic Knights traveled down south in search of crab cakes as they took on #24-ranked McDaniel College. A pair of 133-pound Green and Gold grapplers had some tight decisions, including one coming out on top, but sophomore 141-pounder

NJCU (2-11) started off strong with a sudden victory decision win over McDaniel (5-0) by senior 133-pounder
George Rivera (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) in the day's first match, an exhibition to kick things off. He was trailing the entirety of the third period, 3-2, but held on to win the riding time advantage and force sudden victory. There, he took his opponent down for the 6-3 SV win.
