Cross Country Places 17th at the Highlander Invitational

NEWARK, N.J. – The New Jersey City University women's cross country squad finished 17th, out of 32 teams, with 537 points at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Highlander Challenge.

Jezena Aponte (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) recorded the highest finish at the Highlander Challenge for the Gothic Knights with a time of 19:26.9, good for 16th place. Saniya Chappius (Millville, N.J./Millville Senior) took 139th with a finish of 25:48.8 while Reyanna Henderson (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Two) (140th, 25:49.3) and Asia Speights (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Township) (141st, 25:49.4) finished close behind. Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, N.J./Highland Park) crossed the finish line in 27:25.6 for a 162nd place finish. Yoselyn Romero (East Orange, N.J./Kearny) rounded out the scoring for the Gothic Knights with a time of 28:09.4
