Men's Soccer Falls to TCNJ in NJAC Matchup, 3-1

Box Score EWING, N.J. – The New Jersey City University (NJCU) men's soccer team fell to TCNJ, 3-1, in an NJAC matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The Lions (2-10-5, 2-3-2 NJAC) outshot the Gothic Knights (6-8-3, 0-7 NJAC) 20-17, with a 7-6 advantage in shots on target and 3-1 in corners. Senior defender Joao Autran (Itatiba, Brazil/Objetivo) led NJCU with five shots, while freshman forward Christan Palmer (Union, N.J./Union) contributed a team-high three shots on goal.

Goalkeepers Dominic Cunha (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) and Lennox Nunez (Linden, N.J./Linden) shared time in net, with Cunha making three saves over 83 minutes and Nunez adding one save in his fifth appearance this season.

TCNJ took a 2-0 lead into halftime with goals in the fifth and 17th minutes. In the second half, Palmer's shot rebounded off the TCNJ goalkeeper, allowing Autran to score in the 57th minute, marking his first goal of the season and Palmer's second assist.
