Men's Wrestling Competes at the King's Quad

December 14, 2024

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The New Jersey City University men's wrestling squad suffered a pair of losses at the King's College Dual on Saturday, December 14. The two losses drop the Gothic Knights to 5-12 on the year.

The day started against King's where Lucas Torre (Point Pleasant, N.J./Brick Memorial) picked up the first win for the Gothic Knights at 133 pounds. Dean Costantino (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) added a Major Decision (17-5) at 141 to put the Gothic Knights ahead 7-3. Fabian Acuna (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) put NJCU back in the win column with a Technical Fall, however, he would be the last Gothic Knight to secure a win as two losses and two forfeits sealed the loss, 34-12.

NJCU then squared off against Alvernia where they fell, 37-12. Dominic Terracciano (Keansburg, N.J./Keansburg) earned six points via a forfeit before Torre and Costantino each picked up a decision. The Gothic Knights could not build off of that strong early start as Alvernia would sweep the remaining weight classes.
