JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The New Jersey City University department of athletics announced several schedule changes for the week of April 1 due to impending midweek weather set to hit the tri-state area. NJCU softball also announced a date for a previously postponed doubleheader.
NJCU softball, originally scheduled to host New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival Kean University at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex on Tuesday, April 2, for a doubleheader, has postponed those pair of games. The two conference games between the Gothic Knights and Cougars will be made up on a to-be-determined date this weekend at one of the school's home field. NJCU's scheduled non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 4, against Centenary University at The Gerrity has also been postponed to a to-be-determined date. Additionally, the Gothic Knights' previously postponed home doubleheader from March 21 against Saint Elizabeth University has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 25, at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The Green and Gold baseball squad was originally set to host Purchase College for a non-conference single game at the Gerrity tomorrow afternoon, but that contest had been postponed to a to-be-determined date. Additionally, NJCU was initially supposed to host Kean at the Gerrity on Thursday for a single game and then travel to Union, N.J., to face the Cougars on Friday afternoon, April 5, for another single game. Those dates have now been switched and the Gothic Knights will travel to Kean on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. game and then host the Cougars at the Gerrity on Friday for a 3:00 p.m. single.
