April 15, 2024

NEWARK, N.J. — The New Jersey City University men's volleyball program, which completed the regular season and Skyline Conference tournament with a 21-10 overall record, including a 17-1 mark in conference play, was selected as the #1 overall seed in the 2024 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Volleyball Championship, the organization announced today, Monday, April 15.

The Gothic Knights won the 2023 ECAC Championship title last season and finished as semifinalists in 2022. This year, NJCU is the top seed out of the five teams selected, with #2 seed and New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival Rutgers-Newark serving as the host of the semifinal and championship rounds this Saturday, April 20.

The Gothic Knights received a First Round bye into the weekend and will, one way or another, face a familiar foe in the semifinal round on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. NJCU will take on the winner of the #4 Ramapo College vs. #5 Purchase College first round match, which takes place on Wednesday night, April 17, in Mahwah, N.J. Should the Green and Gold once again defeat one of those two possible opponents in the semifinal, they will advance to the 7:00 p.m. ECAC Championship match later that evening against the winner of the #2 Rutgers-Newark vs. #3 Saint Vincent College match, which is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
