DaSilva Becomes First All-America Selection in Men's Volleyball Program History

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its 2024 Division III Men's All-America teams on Monday, April 22, and for the first time in program history, a New Jersey City University men's volleyball student-athlete has been selected as an All-American. Fifth year co-captain middle blocker Brandon DaSilva (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) was named Honorable Mention.

DaSilva completed his final season with the Gothic Knights with 99 total blocks (1.13 per set), 336.5 points (3.82 per set), 246 kills (2.80 per set), 30 aces (0.34 per set) and a .400 hitting percentage. That blocks per set number ranked second in the Skyline Conference and seventh in all of NCAA Division III. He also led the Skyline in hitting percentage and was 16th in Division III. Among the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), he was first in hitting percentage and blocks per set, as well, and second in points per set.

For his career, he finished third all-time at NJCU in assisted blocks (280) and fourth in total blockers (353). He is also seventh in blocks per set (1.04) and ninth in points (1,077). His single-season blocks per set this year ranks fifth at NJCU, as well.
