Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The New Jersey City University men's soccer team faced off against John Jay on Saturday, Sept. 21, ending in a 2-2 draw. Despite taking a 2-1 lead, the Gothic Knights couldn't hold on as John Jay equalized in the 88th minute.
NJCU (5-1-2) outshot John Jay (1-4-1) 25-11, with both teams recording nine shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Dominic Cunha (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) made seven saves during the match. Freshman forward
Christan Palmer (Union, N.J./Union) led the Gothic Knights with two shots on goal, while fifth-year forward
Jorkaef Fallas (North Bergen, N.J./Hudson Catholic) and sophomore forward
Emmanuel Atorkui (Union, N.J./Northstar Academy) combined for 11 of the team's 25 shots.
Fallas started strong, scoring in the 20th minute with an assist from fifth-year midfielder
Thiago Duarte (Newark, N.J./Newark East Side), giving NJCU a 1-0 lead at halftime. John Jay cut the deficit in the 73rd minute, but just 31 seconds later, freshman midfielder
Denilson Salinas (Callao, Peru/Kearny) set up Palmer for NJCU's second goal. However, with less than three minutes remaining, the Bloodhounds found the net again to secure the draw.

- Fallas collected his second goal of the season, the 12th of his career.
- Palmer notched his third goal of the season.
- Duarte recorded his fourth assist of the season, marking the 17th of his career.
- Salinas tallied his first career assist.
- Cunha made seven saves in 90 minutes of action.
