NEWARK, N.J. - The New Jersey City University (NJCU) women's cross country team continued its fall season on Saturday, Oct. 11 with a strong showing in the 5k race at the NJIT XC Invitational, hosted at Branch Brook Park.
Leading the charge for NJCU was senior
Raven Orange (Carteret, N.J./Carteret), who placed 52nd overall, out of 109 runners, with a personal-best time of 25:04.00. This marks the third time this season she has paced the Gothic Knights. Close behind Orange was fifth-year
Reyanna Henderson (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Two), who clocked in at 25:05.00 to finish 53
rd for a season-best time.
Freshman Kionna Webber had a solid performance, finishing 75th overall in a personal-record time of 27:43.00. Rounding out the NJCU lineup was sophomore
Elyze Lopez (Reseda, Calif./John F. Kennedy), who made her collegiate debut in a 5k race. Lopez crossed the finish line in 28:38.00, placing 88th overall.
UP NEXT:
NJCU will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 16, traveling to Lincoln University in Pennsylvania for the Lincoln University Championship Tune-Up. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
