Aubrey Gulbin (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) of the NJCU Gothic Knights has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career for her performances during the week of October 13-19.
The Gothic Knights achieved their first NJAC win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Ramapo and also recorded their first-ever tie against Rutgers-Camden with a 1-1 result. NJCU's overall record stands at 8-5-2, with a 1-3-2 record in NJAC play.
Gulbin started both matches last week, playing 44 minutes in the win over Ramapo and the full 90 minutes in the draw against Rutgers-Camden. She scored her third goal of the season, netting the equalizer in the 1-1 tie.
She currently ranks fourth on the team with three assists and seven points, is third in shooting percentage (.214), and is among team leaders in games played (14), games started (10), and minutes played (881).
NJCU and Gulbin will next face TCNJ on Wednesday, October 22, at 6:00 p.m. in an NJAC matchup.
