YORK, Pa. – The New Jersey City University (NJCU) women's wrestling team placed ninth out of 14 teams at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College on Saturday, Dec. 6, finishing with 34.5 points. The Gothic Knights were led by sophomore Nuria Kojic (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge), who earned a fourth-place finish, and freshman Aracelli Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Kojic delivered NJCU's top performance of the day with a strong run at 124 pounds. She opened the tournament with a pin in the round of 16 before dropping her quarterfinal match. In the consolation bracket, she rebounded with a 10-0 technical fall in only 2:36, followed by an injury-default victory to advance out of the consolation quarterfinals. She then secured a 13-5 win in the consolation semifinals to reach the third-place bout. Kojic ultimately finished fourth, earning her first placer of the season and the highest finish of her collegiate career.

Rodriguez, competing at 103 pounds, received a first-round bye before falling in the quarterfinals. She responded with a pin at 4:54 in the consolation bracket to advance to the semifinals. After a setback in that round, she moved into the fifth-place match, where she dominated with a 14-4 victory by superiority. The win secured the first placer finish of her collegiate career, placing fifth overall.

At 117 pounds, sophomore Hailey Beck (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape Regional) went 1–2 on the day. Her win came in the opening round of the consolation bracket, where she recorded a pin in just 1:33.
