Yarson Sets Career-High From the Bump in 6-2 Win Over Penn State - Berks

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The New Jersey City University baseball keep kept rolling on Sunday with a 6-2 win over Penn State - Berks behind a career outing from Dom Yarson (Ewing, N.J./Ewing)

NJCU (3-1-1) scattered 11 hits to score six runs while committing zero errors in the field. Yarson (2-0) kept his record perfect from the bump and set a new career-high with 11 strikeouts in the win. At the dish, Justin Moreno (Brooklyn, N.Y./Trenton Catholic) led the team, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Jeremy Ricourt (Perth Amboy, N.J./JFK Memorial) and Enrique Beltra (Monroe, N.J./Ranney) added two hits in the game. PSUB (1-7) used six hits to score two runs and committed two errors. Seibert led the team with two hits alongside Eyster.

Through four innings of play, the score remained 0-0 as both pitchers did their job forcing outs. NJCU broke the dry spell in the bottom of the 5th with five runs. Moreno opened the scoring with an RBI single to score Beltra after he reached first by getting hit by a pitch. Shawn Kish (Fords, N.J./Woodbridge) doubled their tally via an error before Moreno was scored via an RBI double from Marco Cundari (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys). Ricourt kept the scoring alive with an RBI single and eventually made a full trip around the bases when Arian Lunar (Caracas, Venezuela/Elizabeth) brought him home with an RBI single to right center.

PSUB answered with a run of their own in the top of the 7th and followed up with one more in the top of the 8th, however, that's where their scoring streak ended as NJCU tallied an insurance run in the bottom of the frame to secure the win.
