Track & Field Throws Down on Day Two of TCNJ Multi Invite

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The New Jersey City University (NJCU) track and field team continued its spring campaign on Friday, April 11, competing on the second day of the TCNJ Multi Invite, hosted by The College of New Jersey. The Gothic Knights were represented in the hammer throw events, with three student-athletes competing on the women's side and one on the men's side.

In the women's hammer throw, Evelyn Tahmazian led NJCU with a solid performance, recording a throw of 32.28 meters. Her effort placed her 15th overall out of a competitive field of 31 throwers. Not far behind was Shyanne Anson (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie), who secured 16th place with a mark of 32.06 meters, just a fraction shy of her teammate. Rounding out the trio for NJCU, Lucy Pelaez (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) threw 25.13 meters, earning her 25th place in the standings.

On the men's side, Sirell Clark (Jersey City, N.J./University Academy Charter) represented NJCU in the hammer throw and delivered a strong performance. Clark recorded a mark of 41.20 meters, which earned him an 11th-place finish among a field of 24 competitors.
