April 14, 2025

PITMAN, N.J. – The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has named junior Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, N.J./Highland Park) the Field Athlete of the Week for the period of April 7-13.

Ogina shone at the TCNJ Multi Invite, hosted by The College of New Jersey from April 10-12. On April 12, she represented New Jersey City University (NJCU) in the long jump, where she delivered the highest finish for the Gothic Knights. Ogina earned a runner-up spot with a leap of 5.43 meters, which not only ranks 33rd nationally in NCAA Division III for the 2025 outdoor season, but also propels her into fourth place in NJCU program history.

Her performance also earned her a qualification for the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Championships, surpassing the qualifying standard of 5.35 meters.

This marks Ogina's first NJAC outdoor honor of her career, though she has previously been recognized as the NJAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, NJAC Indoor Rookie of the Week, NJAC Indoor Rookie of the Year, and an NJAC Indoor Champion in both the high jump and long jump.
