PITMAN, N.J. – The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its weekly baseball honors for games played April 21–27, and New Jersey City University freshman
Phil Kramer (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) earned NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week — marking the first such honor of the season for NJCU and the first of Kramer's collegiate career.
Kramer, a left-handed starter, delivered a standout performance in NJCU's 6–5 win over William Paterson on April 24. The rookie tossed 7.0 strong innings, striking out five and limiting the opposition to keep the Gothic Knights within reach before the team secured the win.
Across seven starts this season, Kramer owns a team-best 5.61 ERA and leads the NJCU pitching staff in multiple key categories, including fewest hits allowed (57), runs allowed (35), and opponent batting average (.281).
Kramer becomes the first Gothic Knight to claim NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors since
Ricky Del Rio (Edison, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) achieved the distinction during the 2024 season.
