Women’s Cross Country Opens Season with Fourth-Place Finish at Caldwell Cougar Chase

WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – The New Jersey City University (NJCU) women's cross country team opened its 2025 season with a fourth-place finish at the Caldwell Cougar Chase 5K, held Friday, Sept. 26 at Garrett Mountain Reservation. The Gothic Knights totaled 85 points to place fourth out of six competing teams.

Senior Raven Orange (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) led the way for NJCU in her collegiate 5K debut, clocking in at 26:51.10 to earn a 12th-place finish. She was closely followed by fifth-year Reyanna Henderson (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Two), who crossed the line in 26:51.40, securing 13th place.

Junior Jaeda Figueroa (Jersey City, N.J./Hudson Catholic) (24th, 30:49.80) and freshman Kiona Webber (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) (25th, 30:51.60) both made strong collegiate debuts in the 5K event. 

UP NEXT:
The Gothic Knights will return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 4, for the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University in Langhorne, Pa. The race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
