NJCU Track & Field Races at Wesleyan Invite

MIDDLETOWN, C.T. | The New Jersey City University men's and women's track and field team raced at the Wesleyan Alumni Indoor Invitational on Saturday, January 24.

Raven Orange (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) placed fifth in the 60m dash, finishing with a time of 8.28. In the shot put, Lucy Pelaez (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) took 32nd with a toss of 7.27m before placing 28th in the weight throw (7.51m).

On the men's side, Johnair Gonzalez (Jersey City, N.J./William L. Dickinson) placed 25th in the 200m with a time of 25.42, while Thad Liddell finished 28th (25.81). Isaiah Ramirez (Edison, N.J./John P. Stevens) had the highest finish of any Gothic Knight on the day, taking 2nd in the 400m with a time of 51.59. Gerard Victor (Irvington, N.J./Donald M. Payne Tech) finished in 7th, two seconds behind Ramirez in 53.46.

Goncalo Caravalho placed 8th in the 600m with a time of 1:29.30. In the mile, Danny Wilson (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) finished 20th with a time of 5:37.46, while Peter Chrysler (Trenton, N.J./Highland Regional) crossed the finish line in 5:57.08. Gonzalez shifted to the field events, where he placed 8th in the high jump with a height of 1.70m. David Dewberry (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) just missed the top five in the long jump, placing 6th with a jump of 6.27m.
