NEW YORK, N.Y. | Marcus Pardasie (Paramus, N.J./Cresskill) has had a hot start to the season and was named City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week for the second week in a row.
Pardasie tallied 34 kills in two matches, tallying a team-high 17 in each match. He started the week off with 17 kills while hitting a blazing .452 in the five-set, come-from-behind victory over Purchase College. In that same match, he added six assists and five digs.
He continued that solid form with the first CUNYAC match of the season with a 3-0 sweep of John Jay. Pardasie collected a double-double, 17 kills and 10 digs in front of a crowd of future CUNYAC opponents. His percentage remained high, hitting .405 in the win with a service ace.
Alex Casais (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) picked up his first award of the season after he was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week. Casais opened the week with seven digs and five block assists against Purchase before following that performance up with four more blocks and three digs.
