Autumn John (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Week 8 of the 2025–26 season (Dec. 29–Jan. 4), the conference announced Monday, Jan. 5.
The honor marks John's second NJAC weekly award this season and her first career Player of the Week selection. She was previously recognized as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week during Week 4 of the 2025–26 campaign.
John opened the week with a strong all-around performance in a road contest against Division I Wagner, logging a game-high 39 minutes. She recorded 14 rebounds (eight offensive, six defensive), eight points, one assist, one block, and one steal.
In her return to the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center, John posted the second double-double of her season in NJCU's win against Albertus Magnus. The junior forward scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive glass. She shot 10-of-17 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range, while adding four assists, three steals, and one block against the Falcons.
Through 11 games this season, John has produced four double-digit performances in both scoring and rebounding. Her 23-point outing against Albertus Magnus marked the first 20-point game of her collegiate career. Over her three seasons at NJCU, she has now totaled four career double-doubles.
Within the NJAC, John ranks first in rebounds per game (9.9) and minutes played (37.5 per game). She also ranks seventh in blocked shots (1.0 per game) and 21st in scoring (8.3 points per game). Nationally, John sits 25th in minutes per game (36.98) and 36th in offensive rebounds per game (4.2).
The Gothic Knights return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 7, hosting Montclair State University in NJAC play. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
