Men's Basketball Set to Host No. 5 Seeded Rowan in NJAC Quarterfinal

February 19, 2026

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | The New Jersey City University (NJCU) men's basketball team earned the No. 4 seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Postseason Tournament. The Gothic Knights will host No. 5 Rowan University on Saturday, February 21, at 12:00 pm.

Tickets for Saturday's game are on sale now and can be purchased here. No cash will be accepted at the door.

The men finished the season 14-11, 10-8 with a robust 7-4 record at the John J. Moore Athletics & Fitness Center (JMAC). The NJAC Playoff berth is the first since the 2022-23 season where the men earned the No. 6 seed. Just two years before that season, the Gothic Knights were crowned NJAC Champions in the 2020-21 season with a 79-77 win over Stockton University, marking the 13th Championship in program history.

On Saturday, the men will square off against a foe that they split the regular season meeting with, with each team winning away from their home court. The Profs come to Jersey City, NJ, averaging 78.1 points per game in conference play, good for third in the NJAC. NJCU finished the season sixth in the NJAC with 69.9 points per contest. The true difference maker in this contest will come down to the defense, as NJCU's defense ranked fourth in the NJAC, allowing 69.8 points, while Rowan comes in ranked last, allowing 77.1 points per game.

Both squads boast top-5 scorers in the NJAC. Bakhi Rogers-Robinson (Orange, N.J./West Caldwell Tech) averaged 19.3 points per game in conference play, while the Profs were led by Taz Cantey, who tallied 18.2.

Over the last five meetings between the Gothic Knights and the Profs, the Profs hold a 3-2 edge. The Profs, however, have lost three straight heading into the NJAC Postseason Tournament, while the Gothic Knights have won two of their last five.
