KEENE, N.H. — The New Jersey City University (NJCU) men's basketball team fell to No. 2 Keene State, 85–66, in the ECAC championship game on Saturday at Spaulding Gymnasium.
Senior Bakhi Rogers-Robinson (Orange, N.J./West Caldwell Tech) and junior Donovan Crawford (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) were named to the All-ECAC team for their production during the Gothic Knights tournament run.
The Gothic Knights finished the season 16–12, shooting 33.8 percent (23-for-68) from the field and 20 percent (3-for-15) from three-point range. They were strong at the free-throw line, converting 15-of-20 (75 percent) attempts. Keene State shot 50 percent (31-for-62) overall and 43.3 percent (13-for-30) from beyond the arc.
NJCU held advantages in second-chance points (21-9) and fast-break points (9-5), while Keene State led in points off turnovers (18-16) and bench scoring (34-21). Both teams scored 28 points in the paint.
Rogers-Robinson led NJCU with 26 points, shooting 8-for-22 from the field and 3-for-7 from three-point range while adding seven free throws and three assists. Crawford recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, along with two blocks. Freshman Isaiah Green (Orange, N.J./Hillside) added five points and a team-high three steals.
For Keene State, Jordan Cooper led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Jordan McClain added 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Allyn Wright scored 11 points. Denis Wainaina contributed 10 rebounds and five points.
Keene State seized control early with an 11-0 run to take a 15-5 lead, while NJCU went more than five minutes without scoring. The Owls later extended their advantage with a 16-4 run, building a 31-11 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half. Keene State carried a 41-24 lead into halftime.
NJCU attempted to chip away in the second half, highlighted by a layup from Isaiah Green (Orange, N.J./Hillside) that cut the deficit to 54-35 with 14:17 remaining. However, Keene State answered with timely shooting—including several three-pointers—to maintain a comfortable lead and secure the 85-66 victory.
