NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New Jersey City University (NJCU) track & field team competed at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships on March 6–7 at The Armory.
NJCU produced several strong performances over the two-day meet, highlighted by a top-10 program mark in the men's 400-meter dash and multiple personal-best efforts.
Senior
Pratt Charles (Jersey City, N.J./University Charter) led the Gothic Knights with a ninth-place finish in the 400m, clocking 48.96, which ranks top-10 in program history.
Senior
Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, N.J./Highland Park) delivered two solid performances in the field events. She finished 10th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.59 meters, and placed 21st in the long jump with a mark of 5.20 meters.
On the track, senior
Raven Orange (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) recorded a pair of strong performances. She finished 17th in the 200m with a personal-best time of 25.71, and earlier posted another personal-best in the 60m preliminaries, finishing 23rd in 7.93, which also ranks top-10 in program history.
Sophomore Gonçalo Carvalho competed in the 800m, placing 31st with a time of 2:02.79.
Senior
Lucy Pelaez (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) rounded out NJCU's competitors in the field events, finishing 27th in the weight throw with a mark of 9.55 meters.
