Danika Borza (Keyport, N.J./Keyport) and Arianna Figueroa (Jersey City, N.J./Hudson Catholic Regional) added two hits each while Borza struck out five batters in the loss.

Centenary (8-27) scattered 10 hits and capitalized on four errors by the Gothic Knights to score seven runs in the win. The Cyclones had four batters with two hits, with D'Ani Morales and Alyssa Tronolone recording an RBI.

The Cyclones opened the game with three runs in the top of the first behind an error from the Gothic Knights. In the second, Centenary added a run via a wild pitch to take a 4-0 lead. NJCU responded in the bottom of the second with three runs. The Gothic Knights plated their first run via an error before Borza hit a 2 RBI double to cut their deficit down to one.

NJCU tied the game up in the fifth when Shannon McGuire (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) grounded out but scored Borza, who reached earlier on a double to left field. The Cyclones scored three runs over the final two innings and held the Gothic Knights to one in the bottom of the seventh to hold onto the win.
