LA CROSSE, Wis. — Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, N.J./Highland Park) represented New Jersey City University at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Competing in the women's high jump, Ogina faced a 22-athlete field and finished with a no-height result after opening at 1.59 meters.
Despite the outcome, Ogina became the first Gothic Knight to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships since Deseria Sanders advanced in the long jump in 2009.
Ogina closed her outdoor collegiate career with multiple honors, including All-NJAC First Team recognition, All-NJAC Honorable Mention status, NJAC championships in the high jump and triple jump, and a selection to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team. She also earned NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honors twice during her career.
