2012 Season Highlights: (02/23 vs. Yeshiva): Had five digs, four assists and two aces in two sets off the bench.

Martinez played four years of volleyball (three varsity) for the Soaring Eagles under Coach Linda Antenucci. He was a First-Team All-Hudson County selection in 2011 when he led Union City to a 20-6 record and the county championship match. The team was ranked No. 11 in North Jersey. As a junior, Union City went 13-11 and was ranked 17th in North Jersey by NJ.com.
Martinez also was a three-year varsity swimmer for Coach Anthony Snarski.
