2012 Highlights: (3/13 vs. Wooster @ Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic): Went 1-for-3 with a  homerun and two RBIs. (3/13 vs. Mitchell @ Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic): Batted 2-for-4 with two runs and on the mound, she won (1-0) by allowing just three earned runs (five total) against 10 hits, with five strikeouts and one walk. (3/15 vs. MCLA @ Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic): Went 2-for-3 with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. (3/22 vs. Baruch): Fired a one-hit shutout in game two and batted 2-for-4 with two runs scored. On the mound, she struck out five batters, while allowing a lone single with two outs in the first inning. Notched her third shutout in two years at NJCU and tossed her second career one-hitter in game two.  (3/28 @ Brooklyn): Picked up her fourth win of the season (4-4), striking out three batters versus two walks, while allowing three runs and 11 hits. (3/29 vs. St. Joseph's - NY): Scored two runs and had two steals in game one. (4/3 @ Montclair): Allowed just three runs and four hits with two striekouts and two walks in defeat (4-5). (4/6 @ Staten Island): Was 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and her third homer of the season in game two. On the mound, she allowed six runs and eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks. (4/7 vs. Rutgers-Newark): Added a run in game one. (4/9 @ Kean): Took the loss (5-6) allowing seven earned runs and 11 hits with three walks in 4.0 innings. Offensively, she had her eighth double of the season and knocked in two RBIs in the game two loss.   (4/10 @ William Paterson): Was 1-for-2 with two runs in game two. (4/14 @ Rutgers-Camden): Allowed two earned runs (four total) while scattering five hits with two strikeouts and no walks. (4/17 vs. Ramapo): Allowed one run with a walk and strikeout in the seventh inning of game one. (4/24 vs. Richard Stockton): Started and finished the game on the mound (5-10), allowing six earned runs (seven total) and five hits, walking six (one strikeout) in 5.2 innings. ?(4/26 vs. FDU-Florham): Was 1-for-4 with a double, run and RBI. ?(4/28 vs. Rowan): Tossed the final two and two-thirds, allowing seven runs and six hits with four walks and one strikeout in game one.  
 
2011 Highlights: (3/7 vs. Eastern Nazarene): Scored twice, batting 3-for-4...Earned her first win at NJCU. (3/8 vs. Ohio Wesleyan University): Was 2-for-2 at the plate. (3/9 vs. Elms College): Went 2-for-4 with two runs and two steals. (3/9 vs. Bridgewater State): Had two RBIs. (3/10 vs. Olivet College): Scored three runs, batting 1-for-2.  (3/18 vs. Brooklyn College): In 2 games, batted a combined 4-for-7 with five runs, three RBIs, two triples and two stolen bases with an on-base percentage of .625... She tossed her first career complete-game shutout in Game 2, evening her record to 2-2.  She allowed only 6 hits in 6.0 innings. She fanned 2 and walked 2, throwing only 73 pitches. (4/6 vs. Montclair State University): Was 2-for-4 offensively. (4/7 vs. Baruch): Scored twice in the first game...In 7.0 innings she allowed seven hits with three strikeouts and five walks over 110 pitches in the second game of the twinbill. (4/9 @ Rutgers-Newark): Batted 2-for-4 with a double in the first game of the twinbill...Was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and her second homer of the season in Game 2.  (4/15 vs. William Paterson University): Added a 2-for-3, one-run showing in the first game. (4/22 vs. The College of New Jersey): At the plate she was 1-for-3 with one RBI and her 15th steal of the season during Game 2. (4/26 @ Richard Stockton College): Pitched a four-hitter and allowed just one hit in the final six innings of the game for the victory... allowed two earned runs in 7.0 innings with one strikeout and three walks. 

Before NJCU:  Attended the County College of Morris from 2008-10 where she played two seasons of softball…She graduated from CCM Magna Cum Laude…Was an NJCAA Academic All-America selection…She began her academic career at Montclair State University (2007-08) but didn’t play (notes that she “quit the day before practice started, but couldn’t give up the sport”).
 
High School:  A June 2017 graduate of Whippany Park High School in Whippany, NJ…Graduated with honors (3.7 GPA)…A three-sport athlete, she played four seasons of softball (two varsity) for coaches Todd Callaghan (2006-07) and Vinny Carchietta (2004-05)…She played four years of basketball (three varsity) for Coach Tom Wilson and four seasons of soccer (one varsity) for Coach Chuck Seipp…As a softball player for the Wildcats, she earned All-State, All-Morris County, All-Area and All-Colonial Hills Conference honors…In 2006 she was Third-Team All-County, Third-Team All-Area and Second-Team All-Conference, batting .443, a .516 on-base percentage, with 32 runs and a .972 fielding percentage (two errors)…As a senior in 2007 as a utility player (pitcher and shortstop), she earned Second-Team All-County, First-Team All-Area, First-Team All-Conference and Third-Team All-State while batting .413 with a .560 on-base percentage (15 walks), 29 runs scored, 18 RBIs, 10 extra-base hits and 10 stolen bases in the leadoff spot...That season she was 6-1 in over 42 innings on the mound with 43 strikeouts…Defensively, she made only three errors…She helped lead Whippany Park to back-to-back Morris County and Colonial Hills conference championships in 2006 and 2007…She currently plays club softball for 23U Jersey Fusion…Prior to that she played club for the Bridgewater Blue Diamonds, Wildfire and Jersey Diamond Girls.
 
Personal: Jessica Ann Mucerino…Born October 1, 1989 in Morristown, NJ…Nickname is Jess…Bats and throws right-handed…Parents are Margaret and Joseph Mucerino…She is the middle of five daughters in the family…Has two older sisters (Sarah, 26; Danielle, 24) and two younger sisters (Genna, 21; Hannah, 16)…Double major at NJCU is History and Secondary Education…Goal is to become a teacher in a museum or become a history teacher and a coach…Attends NJCU on an academic scholarship…A three-time Dean’s List recipient in her first three semesters at NJCU…Named to the Dean’s list for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012...Serves as a student mentor on campus…Mucerino works two jobs (cashier and as a pitching instructor) while playing softball and going to school full time…Says she is ‘considered a “nerd” and doesn’t mind it...She was a dancer for 12 years but gave it up for softball…Loves museums and going to school…Lists her grandmother as her hero…Notes that she can play any position on the field in softball.
