2014 Highlights:  (3/2 @ Wesley): In 6.0 innings, he struck out seven and walked three, allowing just one run and six hits over 100 pitches...(3/8 vs. Juniata): struck out eight batters in 5.2 innings in his second start of the season, allowed three runs over just five hits and walked four over 114 pitches...(3/13 vs. Rockford): equaled a modern day program record with 14 strikeouts..walked five and allowed two runs (one earned) and five hits over 139 pitches in 8.0 innings...(3/22 @ Washington): became the first player on record in school history to register three double-digit strikeout efforts in a career... went 6.2 innings, striking out 10 without issuing a walk (two hit by pitch), scattering four singles...(4/3 @ Rutgers-Camden): struck out all four batters he faced in a starting role, including fanning the side swinging in the first inning...upped his incredible strikeout pace—now 43K's in 27.2 innings (.208 opposing average)—to 13.99 per nine innings...(4/5 @ Rutgers-Newark-game 1): fanned four batters (three walks) allowing three earned runs (five total) and eight hits in 5.0 innings...(4/10 vs. Stockton): struck out 12 batters in his first career complete-game...nine of his 12 strikeouts were swinging, as he scattered seven singles and allowed one earned run (two total) with five walks while notching 10 fly outs and four grounders...(4/18 vs. Rowan): allowed four runs and seven hits and had six strikeouts and five walks in 5.2 innings...(4/24 @ Ramapo): threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning, including his 66th strikeout in just 48.1 innings, to record his first save of the season and second of his career...(4/26 @ Montclair State-game 1):  had 2 strikeouts in 2.2 innings...(5/2 @ Centenary): struck out two, allowed two singles and one walk in 1.1 innings...extended NJCU's single-season school record for pickoffs to 18...became the third pitcher in school history and the first in 29 years to record 70 strikeouts in a season...(5/6 @ FDU-Florham):  improved to 5-3 on the season while moving into second place in single-season school history with 78 strikeouts...threw 7.0 innings in the win in his 10th start of the season and allowed just one unearned run and four hits with eight strikeouts and three walks.

2013 Highlights: (3/2 vs. Eastern Connecticut State): Scored NJCU's only run. (3/29 vs. Gwynedd-Mercy): Scored on a first-pitch RBI single. (4/11 @ Richard Stockton): Was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double. (4/13 vs. #1 Kean): Was 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the opener. (4/15 vs. Richard Stockton): Was 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. (4/16 @ Baruch): Was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

2012 Highlights: (3/7 vs. Centenary): Struck out seven against three walks in 3.1 innings of relief. He did not allow a hit, against two earned runs (four total). (3/10 vs. Daniel Webster @ Russ Matt Invitational): Struck out 10 batters in 7.1 innings. (3/16 vs. Framingham State @ Russ Matt Invitational): Allowed only two runs and seven hits in 3.1 innings with five strikeouts (four walks) over 84 pitches before leaving with an injury in game one. 

Before NJCU: Played his freshman season at Sussex County Community College where he helped the Skylanders go 27-17 and reach the semifinals of the Region XIX Tournament…In 12 games, Coutinho posted an 8-1 record with a 2.13 ERA in 50.2 innings, allowing just 12 earned runs (25 total) and 40 hits while striking out 50 and walking 30.
 
High School:  A June 2010 graduate of Colonia High School in Colonia, NJ where he was a four-year baseball player (two varsity) for Coach Tom Hennessey…He helped the Patriots win the 2008 Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) White Division championship…He also played in the GMC All-Star game.
 
Personal:  Delio Manuel Coutinho, Jr…Born July 3, 1992 in Newark, NJ…Parents are Jane and Delio Coutinho…Has two brothers—Joseph (16) and Christopher (6)…Bats and throw left-handed…Major at NJCU is undecided.
