Coach Mulligan on Medley: “Jade has all the potential in the world. She can really build upon what she started last year in that she can come into a game and commanded the court. I think she’s going to be a big component of our team because she can be a game changer. She’s athletic—more than most players—and her understanding of the game has developed greatly since her freshman year.”
 
Coach Vance on Medley: “Jade will be a dominant force for our team this season. Her growth and maturity since last season is evident in the work she has put in this preseason. She will be a staple in the middle for our team.”

2014 Volleyball Hightlights: (9/1 vs Wesley):  Finished with a match-high nine kills, which forced a fourth game. (9/1 @ St. Elizabeth): Slugged a match-high 10 kills (10-8-34). (9/6 @ Catholic): Planted 12 kills (12-9-30) to go along with 8 digs. (9/6 vs Cabrini): Slammed 7 kills to go along with 5 digs. (9/7 vs Marymount (Va.):   Notched a team high 7 kills and finished second on the team with 5 digs. (9/7 vs Marywood): Smashed 16 kills and 8 digs (16-7-37). (9/13 @ Hood): Slammed 11 kills (11-7-23) with 6 digs and hit .174. (9/13 vs. Notre Dame): Hit .292 while slamming 10 kills (10-3-24) with three blocks. (9/16 vs William Paterson): Reached double figures in kills for the ninth time in a three-set contest as she slammed 11 kills and hit .156 (11-6-32). (9/23 vs Ramapo): Landed 5 kills (5-3-14, .143) while adding 9 digs. (9/27 vs Sarah Lawrence): Hit .636 with 8 kills and one error (11 attempts).  (9/27 vs Medgar Evers): Added 11 more kills while hitting .571 in 14 swings (three errors) with 3 blocks. (9/30 vs Rutgers-Newark): Floored a match high nine kills and hit .179 (9-4-28). (10/2 @ Rowan): Added three kills (3-1-12, .167). (10/4 @  Cedar Crest & Gwynedd Mercy):  Finished with the double digits in kills for the 7th and 8th time ammassing 34 kills in 10 sets. (10/7 @ Centenary): Became the sixth player in program history to regisr 1,000 career points as she smashed 15 kills and hit .273 (15-6-33) while adding six digs and two solo blocks. (10/9 vs Farmingdale State): Put away 10 more kills and two solo blocks while hitting at a .240 pace (10-4-25). (10/11 vs Alvernia): Had a team-high 8 kills in two sets, hitting .143 (8-5-21). (10/14 @ Kean): Finished with match-best 9 kills and a .292 percentage (9-2-24). (10/16 vs Rutgers-Camden): Put away 15 kills at a .400 rate with 5 digs.(10/24 @ St. Joseph's): Finished with a team-high 9 kills (9-5-22, .182) and 2 blocks (1 solo). (10/24 vs Alrfred State): Completed the match with 2 blocks. (10/25 vs Keystone): Buried 16 kills and hit a staggering .565 (16-3-23). (10/25 vs Wilkes): Tallied 5 kills and 2 blocks. (10/30 vs Sarah Lawrence): Added a .538 percentage, putting away 8 attacks in 13 attempts. (11/1 vs CCNY): Pounded out 13 kills, 4 blocks (3 solo) and hit .370 (13-3-27). (11/1 vs CSI): Put away 11 kills (.172, 11-6-29) and had 2 blocks. (11/2 vs John Jay): Smashed 17 kills at a .289 percentage (17-6-38) while posting 4 blocks, two solo. (11/2 vs CSI): Reached a milestone by surpassing 1,000 kills as she put away 13 kills and hit .267 (13-5-30) with 3 blocks.

2013 Volleyball Highlights: (8/30 @ College of St. Elizabeth): Planted 10 kills and hit .273 (19-4-22). (8/31 @ Bryn Mawr College): hit .538 while slamming 8 kills. (8/31 vs. Wesley): Slammed 7 kills hitting .222 (7-3-18). (9/03 vs. John Jay): Smashed 8 kills in 10 attempts for a .700 attack percentage. (9/11 vs. Cedar Crest): Pounded 9 kills while stuffing 2 blocks (one solo). (9/11 vs. CSI): Notched 12 kills while rejecting 4 blocks. (9/19 @ William Paterson) Notched a team-high 9 kills with 3 blocks. (9/21 vs. Maritime): Hit .333 and had a third on NJCU's kills adding a solo block. (9/21 vs. King's College): Slammed 16 kils, her 16th career effort of double digit kills, and added 3 solo blocks. (9/21 vs. Manhattanville): Smashed 10 kills and added five blocks. (9/28 vs. Sarah Lawrence): Hit .600, putting away 6 kills without an error, she also added two blocks. (9/28 vs. Wilkes): Led NJCU with seven kills. (9/28 @ Keystone): Finished with five blocks (four assisted), and four kills. (10/3 @ Ramapo): Lead NJCU with six kills. (10/10 vs. Rutgers-Newark): Hit .302 with 20 kills and 4 shared blocks. (10/11 vs. Elmira): Hit .333 with four kills and two blocks (one solo). (10/12 vs. MCLA): Hit .233 with a match-high 14 kills adding five blocks (four solo). (10/17 vs. Kean): hit .667 with six kills and no errors on nine attempts.

2012 Volleyball Highlights: (9/5 vs. SUNY Old Westbury): Pounded eight kills at a .357 attack rate (8-3-14). (9/11 @ York - NY): Added 10 kills. (9/13 vs. William Paterson): Slammed a match high 11 kills and a .241 attack percentage while stuffing five blocks, including four solo. (9/15 vs. Cairn @ Delaware Valley): Hit .364 with four kills and no errors (11 attempts). (9/15 @ Delaware Valley): Hit .357 with seven kills and only two errors in 14 attempts. (9/18 @ Montclair State): Was NJCU's top performer in the game with three kills (3-3-11, .000) and two solo blocks. (10/1 vs. St. Joseph's - Brooklyn): Contributed a team-best 11 kills (11-7-37, .108). (10/4 @ Rutgers-Newark): Had a team-high six kills (6-6-24). (10/11 vs. Kean): Hit .300 with nearly half of NJCU's kills, putting away 10 winners (four errors, 20 attempts), while adding five digs and two blocks. (10/13 @ St. Elizabeth): Had seven kills. (10/13 vs. Medgar Evers): Had seven kills and hit .538 without committing an error (13 attacks). ?(10/15 vs. John Jay): Had seven kills (7-5-27, .074). (10/16 @ USMMA): Had seven kills and hit .107 (7-4-28). (10/18 vs. Rutgers-Camden): Had eight kills (8-5-19, .158), five digs and two service aces. (10/19 @ King's): Notched her first career double-double, finishing with 13 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and two aces while hitting .250 (13-7-24). (10/23 vs. St. Elizabeth): Collected nine kills and five blocks (four solo).  

2011 Volleyball Highlights: (9/15 @ William Paterson): Had seven kills, hit .250 (7-2-20) and made her presence felt at the tape with five solo blocks. (9/23 vs. Arcadia @ Devils Quad Match): Reached double figures in kills for the first time, posting a career-best 11 kills (11-5-47, .128). (9/22 @ John Jay): Hit .333 (3-1-6) and had one block. (9/23 vs. Baruch @ Devils Quad Match): Made three blocks, including two solo. (10/2 @ Philadelphia Biblical University): Had match highs with a .529 attack percentage, 10 kills and four solo blocks. (10/3): Named NJCU Athlete of the Week. (10/4 vs. New Rochelle): Tallied double figures in kills for the second consecutive match. (10/7 @ Lehman):  Notched double figures in kills for the third consecutive match with 10 kills (10-6-30, .133) and four solo blocks. (10/11 @ Kean University): Floored seven kills and hit .238 with just a pair of attack errors (7-2-21). (10/13 vs. Montclair): Had a match-high nine kills and hit .292 with just two errors in 24 attempts. (10/15 vs. Hunter): Had a team high seven kills, while hitting .222 (7-3-18). (10/17 @ St. Joseph's): Slammed a career-high 16 kills and hit .333. (10/20 @ Rutgers-Camden): Had a team-best five kills and a match-high three blocks (two solo). (10/22 vs. Ramapo @ CCNY Quad Match): Was errorless, smacking seven of NJCU's 18 total kills, on 25 attacks, for a .280 percentage... and added one solo block. (10/22 @ CCNY Quad Match): Became just the fifth player in school history to crush 25 kills in a match. (10/22 vs. Old Westbury @ CCNY Quad Match): Hit .217, flooring seven kills (7-2-23) with three blocks (two solo). (10/24 vs. Mount Saint Vincent): Had eight kills and five blocks. (10/24 @ St. Elizabeth): Reached double figures in kills for the seventh time this season, hitting .256 with a team-best 16 winners (16-5-43). (10/27 vs. Rowan): Floored a match-high 12 kills and hit .200 (12-4-40) while reaching double figures in kills for the eighth time this season and the second match in a row. (10/28 @ St. Joseph's of Long Island): Notched eight kills and hit .226 with just one error (8-1-31).
 
2011 Volleyball Summary: Was a two-time NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week…For the season she played in 25 of 27 matches (25 starts) and 88 sets and totaled 207 kills, 44 blocks and 15 digs. She had a .210 hitting percentage (207-74-633), 2.35 kills per set and 0.50 blocks per set (39 solo, five assisted). Medley reached double figures in kills eight times including a career high 25 on October 22 at CCNY, becoming the fifth known player in program history with at least 25 kills in a match. She twice had five blocks in a match and stuffed three or more blocks eight times.
 
2011-12 Basketball Summary: Played 24 games (10 starts) at shooting guard/small forward, averaging 5.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game with 17 steals and 11 blocks.
 
High School:  A June 2011 graduate of Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City, NJ… Played varsity basketball for one year under Coach Felicia Harris-Sellers and one year of varsity volleyball for Coach Fernando Colon. Medley was named Second-Team All-Hudson County and led the Hawks to the county playoffs in both sports. She also played club volleyball…She only attended Hudson Catholic for one year…She set a school record for kills and blocks in a season at Hudson Catholic…Previously, she attended Benjamin N. Cardona High School in Bayside, Queens from her freshman thru junior seasons…Played AAU basketball for ‘Positive Direction’ (Coach Joann Arbitello) and ‘New Heights/Exodus’ (Coach Dennis Avilia).
 
Personal: Jade Shakirah Medley… Born August 31, 1993 in Brooklyn, NY…Right-handed…Parents are Donna Parker-Medley and Billy Medley…Has three older siblings—brothers Kevin (38) and Lawrence (30), and sister, Kizzy (35)…Is a cousin of NBA Hall of Famer, Julius Erving (Dr. J)… Major at NJCU is Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She intends to become a psychiatrist… Describes herself as very athletics and as ‘determined, a leader, optimistic, encouraging and outgoing’…Enjoys reading and writing.
