Brown on John (2006-07): “Now that he has a year under his belt in our system after never playing organized basketball, he’s one of the guys I am hoping can pick up for the loss of Mark Washington. He’s an excellent athlete whose knowledge of the game is still developing. He’s an excellent shooter and an outside threat who can shoot from anywhere on the court. He’s a hard worker who runs and jumps well, but needs to get better defensively. By the time he develops and becomes a senior, he can become our Mark Washington [all-around team star, athletically and academically].
