Fast Facts: Will compete with Juan Vera for the starting nod at right midfielder…The younger brother of NJCU’s all-time point leader (Marc Palumbo), Chris Palumbo came on at the end of the 2003 season to earn a starting role for the Gothic Knights…Only played in six games in 2003, but emerged as a starter in the final two ECAC Tournament contests and played well…Is very good at settling the game down and always makes good decisions with the ball, connecting the simple passes that will keep NJCU in possession.

High School: A June 24, 2003 graduate of Spotswood High School in Spotswood, NJ…A three-sport athlete for the Chargers in soccer, wrestling, and baseball…Played four years of soccer, including three on the varsity level for coaches Chris Gozick and Matt Koger…Earned All-Greater Middlesex Conference, All-GMC Blue Division and Honorable Mention All-Area honors…Saw action at both midfield and defense, scoring eight goals and eight assists as a senior, despite spending much of his time as a fullback…Had a pair of assists in Spotswood’s 3-0 shutout of Monroe on September 24, 2001…Spotswood went 8-8-1 in his sophomore year (2000)…Also played two years of baseball (one varsity) for William Toncic as a right-fielder, and wrestled on varsity for a season for Tony Toto…Played varsity baseball his sophomore year in 2001…Made the final putout of the Chargers’ win over Bishop Ahr in the GMC quarterfinals.

Palumbo…Parents are Deborah and Michael Palumbo…Has two older brothers, Michael, 25, and Marc, 23…Major at NJCU is undeclared…Right-footed…His brother Marc, the all-time leader in points in NJCU men’s soccer history with 78 points (30 goals, 18 assists), and a future Hall of Famer, is one of the top offensive players in school history…Marc played from 1999-2002, and was a three-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference pick (First-Team, 2002) and former NJAC Player and Rookie of the Week who as a senior was named Second-Team All-Region and honored with the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Award…Brother Mike was also an accomplished wrestler.

2006 Highlights:  (10/03 vs. William Paterson University):  Off a Palumbo corner kick from the right side, Jensen smoked a shot inside the left post for his third goal...(10/09 vs. Farmingdale State University): Headed in for his first goal of the season at 19:28 when Acuna sent a beautiful cross towards the net which scored NJCU's more aesthetic goal of the game.
