Biography
2021-22: Wrestled at 133 pounds in his first year with NJCU ... compled a 14-9 overall record ... tied for third on the team in victories ... fifth most appearances on the mat (23) ... tied for the team lead in technical falls (2) and major decisions (4) ... also had one win by fall ... defeated then-regional #1 and then-national #7 133-pounder Cadenas against Cortland (2/4) ... won four times at the Racich Rumble (2/13) ... placed sixth at 133 pounds with four victories at the NCAA Mideast Regionals (2/27).
2020-21: Attended Johnson & Wales University and was a member of the Wildcats' men's wrestling team, but did not compete as a freshman.
High School: A 2020 graduate of Ridgefield Park High School … four-year member of the Scarlets wrestling team … two-year team captain … is the all-time wins leader with an overall record of 140-27 … placed ninth in the NJSIAA State Tournament … regional finalist … two-time District Champion … NHSCA National Quarterfinalist … reached round of 16 in Super 32 Challenge … placed second in Journeymen Freestyle World Classic.
Personal: Son of Olga and Jeremy Ruiz … has two siblings, Aiden and Ava … pursuing a career as a wrestling club owner and coach.
