Brown on Slappy: “A cerebral player, who his not as athletic as some, but is a smart, heady player. We are playing him out of position at the 4-5, but he’s really a three. He wasn’t in shape last season but has come back this year much healthier and we’re going to depend on him for inside presence.”
2006-07 Highlights: (11/18 vs. College of Staten Island at Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament): Chipped in seven points, contributing to the NJCU victory over CSI...
2005-06: Saw limited action with a knee injury after transferring to NJCU for his junior season…Played in 20 of 29 games, but logged only 153 minutes and reached double figures in minutes in only seven games…Despite the injury, still managed 1.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.4 steals per game with a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio…Tallied 31 points, 39 rebounds, 16 assists and eight steals…A strong free throw shooter at 84.6 percent (11-13)…Converted 4-of-9 three-pointers (44.4%)…8-of-24 from the field (.333)… (02/15/06 at Rutgers-Camden): Scored a season-high seven points with three assists… (03/01/2006 vs. Ramapo College): Grabbed six rebounds in NJCU’s ECAC quarterfinal victory.
Brookdale Community College (2003-05): Played two seasons at BCC…Missed much of the 2004-05 season with a torn ACL.
