Union County College, 2005: For the season, batted .309 (29-94) with three homers and 21 RBIs in 28 games…Swiped four bases in seven attempts…On the mound, posted a 3-4 record with one save and a 4.00 ERA in 45.0 innings…Fanned 63 versus 27 walks…Allowed just 38 hits and 20 earned runs.
AAU/Summer Leagues: In 2005, played for Union Post 35 in the American Legion…Led the team to the state post-season tournament.
High School: A June 2004 graduate of Union High School in Union, NJ, where he played two seasons of baseball, including one on the varsity level for coach Mike Hamberg…Played in county and state playoff games in 2004…In 2004, Union, the No. 5 seed, ousted Bayonne in the North II, Group IV quarterfinals (May 21), 10-3, and upset top-seeded Kearny, 8-4, before losing to Watching Hills in the sectional finals…A high school teammate of current NJCU players Ruben Borges, Tom Cruder, Rob Motacki and Rob Sumner.

2008 Highlights: (03/06 vs. Muhlenberg College at Russ Matt College Spring Break Invitational): Allowed only two unearned runs and three hits, with three strikeouts and five walks in 3.0 innings as the starter... (03/10 vs. Coe College): Fell to 0-1 overall. In 6.0 innings he allowed three earned runs and eight hits, striking out five and walking four... (03/15 vs. Staten Island): Lasted 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs and only five hits with seven strikeouts and four walks... (03/27 vs. Rutgers-Newark): Left the game with a 7-5 lead and struck out six while allowing only three earned runs, but received a no decision... (04/01 vs. John Jay College): The winner (1-1), in 4.0 predetermined innings, he allowed only three hits and three runs with four strikeouts and five walks... (04/19 at Ramapo College): Pitched 7.2 innings, striking out nine versus six walks, allowing one earned run as he won his second game (2-2), as he lead the Knights to a 10-2 victory in the opening game... (04/21): Has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for week nine of the 2008 season. For the season, he is seventh in the NJAC this season with 46 strikeouts in just 39.2 innings. He owns a 3.40 ERA overall in eight starts and 11 appearances, and had allowed just 36 hits, 27 of which were limited to singles. He is averaging 10.44 strikeouts per game—fifth best in the NJAC, while his .234 opposing batting average is 11th in the league. Additionally, he ranks 19th in the NJAC in ERA, 20th in innings, and is tied for fourth in starts... (04/25 at Rutgers-Newark): This week’s NJAC Pitcher of the Week, was the hard-luck loser in a game he could have easily won if not for the effects of the sun. He dropped to 2-3, allowing the three eighth inning runs, despite three strikeouts...(04/25): Has been selected as the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III Pitcher of the Week for the seventh week of the 2008 season, it is the first NJCU pitcher to receive the accolade in 11 years. In 11.2 innings last week, Cacchiola allowed only three hits—all singles—struck out 13, against seven walks, and posted a 0.77 ERA, going 1-0 in two starts...
