Biography

For starters: After a solid rookie season, will be NJCU’s backup at the power forward position…A strong interior defender…Missed most of the preseason with an injury.
Brown on Martin: “Last year was a learning experience for Dashan. This year we’re depending on him to come off the bench and do heavy rebounding up front. Even though he lacks size at 6-foot-2, he’s an excellent inside player. His interior defense will be an important factor. He worked on his jump shot in the offseason, and has developed into a better offensive player.”
High School: A June 2005 graduate of Rahway High School where he played four years of basketball (three varsity) for coaches Bell Burger and Marty Luke…Played in the Union County All-Star game…Helped the Indians reach the county playoffs in each of his four season, and the state tournament three times…
Personal: Dashan Lamar Martin…Born November 4, 1986 in Elizabeth, NJ…Parents are Bernice Hamilton and Daryl Martin…One of four children, he has one brother, Daryl Martin, and two sisters—Denice and Danielle Martin…Right-handed…Major at NJCU is undecided…A hobby includes the sport of boxing…
