2008 Highlights: (03/10 vs. Wooster College at Gene Cusic Classic): Finsihed 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI... (03/11 vs. Salem State College): With one out for NJCU in the bottom of the first, she belted an RBI triple and scored on an RBI single, she finsihed 1-for-2 with one RBI, a triple, and two walks...  (03/11 vs. Skidmore College): Was the lone NJCU player with multiple hits batting 2-for-2 with two runs and her first career homerun in the first inning... (03/12 vs. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute): Walked and scored twice in the effort for the win...  (03/13 vs. Olivet College): Finished 2-for-3 with one run. She added an RBI, as she finished the trip with a team-best .476 batting average... (03/19 @ John Jay): Combined 3-for-7 with four runs and a triple to break the all-time program record. She now has 10 career triples, breaking the mark of nine achieved by two players, including Toni Salvatore (1990-93). She also moved into fifth place in school history with 113 hits and ninth in runs (75). In game one, she scored twice, going 1-for-4. (03/27 vs. Lehman College): Went 6-for-6 with six runs, five RBIs and two triples as she increased her season batting average to a staggering .512. In game one she was 3-for-3 with four RBIs, three runs and two steals in game one. She continued to climb NJCU’s all-time charts in the doubleheader, increasing her career record for triples to 12, while moving into fifth place with 164 total bases. She had a two-RBI single in the first inning and another two-run single in the second inning. Game two she registered 3-for-3 with three runs, one RBI and a triple...(03/31): Become the first Gothic Knight softball player in seven years to be selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week when the two-year NJCU captain received the award today from the league. For the week, Matsutani had seven runs, five RBIs, six walks, two triples and two steals. She hit safely in every game in which she had an official plate appearance... (04/03 vs. Baruch College): The reigning NJAC and ECAC Player of the Week crushed two homeruns, including a grand slam in game one and combined to go 6-for-7 with eight RBIs and four runs in the twinbill. She is 12-for-13 with 13 RBIs and 10 runs in her last four games against CUNYAC conference pitching and a combined 15-for-20 with 14 runs in six games against the league this year. In game one she went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs scored and connected on a grand slam in the sixth inning—the ninth grand slam in NJCU history. Game two she raised her season batting average to .517 in the doubleheader (30-58), was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs and her second homer of the day...(04/08 vs William Paterson): 1-for-2 with one run in the win... (04/09): Continues to be ranked among the Top 50 nationally in five categories and the Top 25 in four areas. She leads the New Jersey Athletic Conference in batting average and on-base percentage. Matsutani’s .590 on-base percentage through 22 games is No. 10 in the nation. She is also 24th in batting average (.492), 25th in walks per game (0.73), tied for 25th in triples per game (0.18) and 42nd in slugging percentage (.803). Additionally, Matsutani is 92nd in runs per game (1.05)... (04/24 at St. Joseph's College): Finished 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI, she posted a sixth-inning, go-ahead, inside-the-park homerun that gave the Knights a temporary 2-1 lead. It was her fourth homer of the season after having none in her previous three years. In game two, she collected a two-run single to increase NJCU’s margin to 11-7 before scoring on an RBI triple...(04/25 at The College of Staten Island): Hitting in the leadoff spot for the first time this season, drove in three runs, later she added an RBI groundout as part of her eighth multiple-RBI game this season, while increasing her season total to 34 ribbies... (04/26 vs. Richard Stockton College): The lone senior on the club, also banged out a homerun as NJCU hit four homers in the two games. Finished 2-for-3 with three runs and her fifth homerun of the season, in game one she made the first at bat of her special afternoon count when she launched a homer to leftfield for 1-0 lead. In game two she tied the score at 4 with an RBI single... ...(04/30): Selected Second-Team All-NJAC at-large selection in voting by the league’s 10 head coaches. The lone senior on the 2008 Gothic Knight roster was named NJAC Player of the Week on March 31 and ECAC Division III Metro Player of the Week. She finished the season with a .405 average (49-121), adding 39 runs, 36 RBIs, five doubles, six triples and five homers, while compiling 81 total bases, 25 walks and 12 steals in 14 tries. She also had a .669 slugging and .503 on-base percentage and struck out only 10 times while posting a .935 fielding percentage with only 13 errors in 201 chances. During the year, she hit the ninth grand slam in NJCU history. Matsutani tallied 14 multiple-hit and eight multi-RBI games with a high of five, and had a 10-game hitting streak. In 40 games (40 starts), she led NJCU in average, runs, triples, total bases, assists (102) and on-base percentage, and tied for the team lead in homers while helping the Gothic Knights set a single-season team record with 15. She was second on the club in hits and steals, and was fourth in doubles and putouts (86). Matsutani is NJCU’s all-time leader in triples (14), assists (395), tied for first in games played and started (143) and double plays turned (25), second in at bats (439), total bases (213) and chances (734), third in slugging (.485) and steal attempts (39), fourth in RBIs (75), tied for fourth in homers (5) and steals (33), and fifth in batting average (.339), runs scored (102), hits (149) and putouts (290). She has ranked among the Top 50 nationally in five categories this year, including batting and on-base percentage, and as of April 27 was tied for 41st in walks per game (0.63) and 43rd in triples per game (0.15).  Among NJAC regular-season leaders, Matsutani currently ranks first in assists (102) and double plays turned (9), second in runs, RBIs, and triples, tied for second in homers, third in average, slugging, on-base percentage and walks, fourth in total bases, tied for fifth in hits, seventh in steals, tied for eighth in plate appearances (148), and eighth in steal attempts. Matsutani leads the NJAC in average with runners on base (.510) and percentage advancing runners (.707) and ranked second with a .514 average with two outs.  In 18 NJAC games, she had a .240 average with seven RBIs, and in league games led the league in double plays turned (6), ranked tied for third in walks (11) and assists (47), eighth in steals (5) and had a .611 percentage advancing runners…In 2005, she was named Honorable Mention All-Association of Division III Independents, First-Team All-WIAC and was a two-time WIAC Rookie of the Week... (05/09): The two-year standout for NJCU, has picked up yet another honor as her four-year career as a scholar-athlete for the Gothic Knights comes to an end. She was voted to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America District II College Division Third-Team as an infielder for her excellence in both athletics and academics. She is the first NJCU softball player to ever be voted to the Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)...

2007 Highlights: (03/14 vs. Regis College at Cocoa Expo): In game one, knocked in three RBIs, going 2-for-3 in the leadoff slot as she knocked out a triple. Hit 2-for-3 with two runs... (03/26 vs. Centenary College):  Provided all the offense they would need in game two with a two-run double, as the Knights swept in doubleheader, 5-4 and 2-1...(03/31 vs. Rutgers University-Camden): Went 2-for-3 with one run scored for the Knights in game two... (04/03 vs. Kean University): Gave the Knights a 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the third. That stood up until the top of the seventh when Kean's McManus lifted a 2-1 pitch deep to center for her second homerun of the season... (04/05 vs. Baruch College): 5-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs in game one.  She set a career-high for hits in a game, led a 16-hit Gothic Knight attack in the opener, and she had as many hits as the entire Baruch lineup with her 5-for-5 performance. In game two she collected RBIs for the Knights helping the 3-1 win...(04/24 at Ramapo College): In game two she went 1-for-3 with two runs...(04/26 vs. College of Staten Island): 3-for-4 with three runs, one RBI, a double and a triple...(04/28 at Richard Stockton College): Finished 1-for-2 with two runs...
