Biography

Alvarez on Hoyer: “Matsui” is without question our top offensive weapons this year.  Coming off a great year that had a slow start and saw him still manage to hit .338 overall and .333 in conference with 13 extra baggers and one homerun.  His ability to master the fundamentals of the game is what makes him so versatile.  We will play him anywhere we need him in the outfield or infield.  Look for Mark to hit anywhere from the one to four spot, but we like him best in the three hole. Mark is also one of our four captains.”
