Biography

Alvarez on Colon: Colon is a returning starting left-handed first baseman for us this year.  Jose has cut down his swing some this year and is now a true student of the game.  We know that he has the power to absolutely unleash some man bombs, but he will look to primarily spray the ball this year.  A swift fielding 1st baseman with some attitude he will also anchor the middle of our lineup and give is some true power from the left side.  Jose can also DH when not playing the field and potentially help us in relief from the left side.”
