The award is for week 11 of the 2008 season. As an honor student with a 3.448 grade point average, is the second NJCU pitcher to receive the honor this season he led the team with a 3.67 ERA. In 27.0 innings over 20 relief appearances, he was 2-3 with 19 strikeouts versus 16 walks, and only allowed 11 earned runs and 23 hits. Only four of the hits he allowed were for extra bases, including no homeruns and opponents could only muster a .228 average against him. In the NJAC, led the league in relief appearances, and had the lowest opposing batting average against leadoff hitters in the conference by 67 points—.227 overall—and the best opposing average of any pitcher with two outs, a meager .121. Hallam had a substantial NJAC lead in ground/fly out ratio at 6.13, averaging 16.33 ground outs/game. The next closest pitcher in the NJAC was a 2.81. He ranked tied for No. 2 in the conference in total appearances, eighth in opposing batting average and games finished (9), and 14th in ERA. He was also tied for No. 1 in fewest homeruns allowed and fifth in fewest doubles allowed. His opposing batting average against right-handed hitters was .220—10th in the NJAC...
