High School: A June 2005 graduate of East Side High School in Newark, NJ…An honors student, he graduated with a 3.3 grade point average…Played three seasons of varsity baseball for the Red Raiders under Coach Gerry Battaglini…A team co-captain as a senior in 2005…Twice led the Raiders to the city championship and a berth in the state tournament…Went 2-0 with a 2.23 ERA as a junior…Senior year record was 3-0 with a 2.40 ERA.
