2013 Season Highlights: (1/26 vs. Brooklyn): Had a cintillating .516 setting percentage with 32 assists. (1/26 vs. CCNY): Delivered 30 assists with a .435 setting percentage. (1/26 vs. Wentworth): Dished out 20 assists. (1/29 @ York): Distributed 27 assists and six digs. (2/2 vs. Mount Saint Vincent): Chipped in 16 assists and a .444 set percentage. (2/2 vs. Sage): Chipped in 15 assists. (2/6 vs. #8 Baruch): Dished out 11 assists. (2/7 vs. NYU-Poly): Delivered 18 assists. (2/12 @ Kean): Dished out eight assists. (2/17 vs. Ramapo): Dished 33 assists (.363) with a career-high four assisted blocks. (2/17 @ NYU-Poly): Had the best match of his career, dishing out 31 assists with seven kills, five aces and two blocks. (2/19 vs. Yeshiva): Led NJCU with 32 assists. (2/23 vs. Lehman): Delivered a .562 setting percentage with 27 assists. (2/23 vs. Penn State-Behrend): Distributed a career-best 51 assists at a .340 clip while adding eight digs. (2/23 vs. Gallaudet): Chalked up eight assists in two sets. (2/27 vs. Ramapo): Dished out 22 assists. (3/2 vs. Purchase): Delivered 37 assists along with three aces and three kills. (3/2 vs. Mount Saint Vincent): Provided 32 assists and eight digs. (3/8 vs. Lasell @ York College Tournament): Had nine digs. (3/9 vs. York @ York College Tournament): Defended nine digs. (3/9 vs. Lancaster Bible @ York College Tournament): Delivered 40 assists (.377, 106 attempts), six digs and three aces. (3/26 vs. Hunter): Dished out 17 assists. (4/2 vs. #6 New Paltz): Finished with seven assists. (4/4 vs. Purchase): Delivered 22 assists in 45 attempts in two and a half sets for a .489 setting percentage and had three kills in three attempts (1.000) with a solo block. (4/7 vs. Yeshiva): Dished out 27 assists. (4/13 vs. #14 Kean - Skyline Conference Semifinals): Collected seven assists.

2012 Season Highlights: (01/23/2012 @ NYU Polytechnic): Added six assists. (02/08/2012 @ Ramapo): Made his first career start at setter and had 33 assists and a .471 setting percentage. (02/10/2012 @ Hunter): Finished with 16 assists. (02/12/2012 vs. Yeshiva): Provided 12 assists and a .429 setting rate. (02/12/2012 @ Purchase): Finished with nine assists. (02/18/2012 vs. Juniata): Finished with eight assists. (02/18/2012 @ Stevens): Provided 14 assists. (02/19/2012 vs. Lehman): Provided 16 assists. (02/19/2012 vs. Bard): Provided 20 assists and notched his first career solo block on match point. (02/21/2012 vs. Rutgers-Newark): Provided 17 assists. (02/27/2012 @ Sage): Dished 18 assists. (03/04/2012 vs. NYU Poly): Finished with 27 assists. (3/4 @ Mount Saint Vincent): Finished with 29 assists and five digs. (4/1 vs. Kean): Finished with 14 assists.   (4/1 vs. Sage): Finished with 20 assists. (4/3/2012 vs. Mount Saint Vincent): Chipped in 12 assists. (4/6/2012 @ New Paltz): Chipped in 13 assists. (4/14/2012 vs. Ramapo): Delivered a team-best 29 assists. 

Rodgers on Preston: “His accuracy has improved and his decision making has also gotten better since the start of preseason. His determination is one of the highest on the team and he has earned a starting spot in our lineup because of his work ethic. He had not played collegiate volleyball before and came in out of shape but has worked hard on his fitness and lost 20 pounds since the preseason.”
 
Junior College:  Played two seasons of tennis at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland (2005-07). He was named District Rookie of the Year in 2006 and Harford Rookie of the Year for all sports…He claimed All-America distinction in 2007 when he was an NJCAA national finalist, losing in the championship match…He was ranked fourth nationally as a collegiate player.
 
High School:  A June 2005 graduate of Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun, Maryland. He was a four-year standout varsity tennis player for the Tigers from 2002-05, playing for his father, Gary Preston. He owned a 72-3 career singles record and was the four-time Cecil County champion. He was a three-time All-State selection from 2003-05 as his county’s all-star Player of the Year and was the UppBack East Regional and Cecil County Player of the Year in 2005…He climbed as high as a No. 3 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Mid-Atlantic Regional ranking during his prep career…He combined to form the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the USTA Mid-Atlantic Region…He also was ranked No. 1 at the Naval Academy Tennis Academy…there were two players selected from each state to the prestigious tennis academy…Preston’s experience in volleyball comes as a three-year member of the Brandywine Volleyball Club.
 
Personal:  Gary Lee Preston, Jr…Born February 16, 1987 in Delaware…Right-handed…Major is Sociology…Intends to become a sociology professor and continue to coach club and college volleyball…Is proud of the fact he’s playing collegiate volleyball after coaches told him he wasn’t tall enough…Interests include traveling, biking, swimming, drawing, climbing and tennis.
