Lori McCluskey is in her third season as assistant softball coach/pitching coach for the New Jersey City University softball program in 2016-17. She originally joined the staff in August 2014.

In her second season in 2016, she was part of the program’s longest winning streak since 1999—an eight-game run in March—and at 11-5, its best start to a season since going 15-5 in 2001. Most notably for McCluskey, she mentored promising freshman starting pitcher Christina Mezey, who was an NJAC Rookie of the Week selection and later was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Honorable Mention Division III National Pitcher of the Week list after a 12-strikeout, near perfect game against Lehman.

McCluskey came to NJCU after serving four years as a club coach from 2009-10. As head coach of the TriBoro Sting Softball 17U program, she guided the club to a combined 35-2 record and the 2009 and 2010 UGALS 17U championships. She previously was an assistant coach for the TriBoro Sting 14U program from 2007-2008.

A May 2009 graduate of William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and with a Certificate in Secondary Education, off the field McCluskey is in her sixth year as a middle school teacher in the Woodland Park school district in Passaic County. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at NJCU in Educational Technology.

McCluskey is a 2004 graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School in Little Falls, NJ. She played three seasons (2001-03) for the Hornets for Coach Jim Camb. She claimed All-Conference Honorable Mention status in 2003.

Born in January, 1986, McCluskey, 30, resides in Woodland Park, NJ.
