Victoria Galvan joined the New Jersey City University softball program as an assistant coach prior to the 2022 season. She joins the Gothic Knights with a wealth of coaching experience, as well as a stellar playing career at the Division I and high school levels.
As a player, Galvan got her start at Division I University of South Carolina in the 2018 season and was a reserve pitcher/utility player for the Gamecocks. She then transferred to another Division I institution prior to the 2019 campaign, the University of Maryland and appeared in 22 games for the Terrapins that season, amassing a 3-2 record with 44.1 innings pitched and six starts in the circle. Unfortunately, due to injury, Galvan did not compete collegiately following the 2019 season, but did earn a degree in sociology from Maryland in May 2021.
As a coach, Galvan has worked with Triple Crown Sports Training — running camps and clinics for athletes ages 9-18 — and her alma mater, Manasquan High School, since the Spring of 2021. She has also served as an assistant coach with the 9ers baseball/softball travel organization since the Winter of 2020. Previously, prior to attending college, she was an assistant coach with the Manasquan Little League.
A 2017 graduate of Manasquan High School, Galvan was a standout player with the bat and in the circle. She was a three-time All-Shore Conference selection, Coast Star Player of the Year all four seasons and was selected to MSG Varsity All-Group 2 four times as well.
