Alexandra "Lexi" Mescavage (B.S. '18, MBA '21) joined the New Jersey City University community as an undergraduate transfer prior to the 2016-17 academic year, played two years with the Gothic Knights' women's soccer program, earned a graduate assistant title from September 2018 to May 2020, before eventually being appointed to her current dual role as NJCU's Community Recreation Coordinator and Athletics Facilities Manager in June 2020.
In her present role, Mescavage supervises the day-to-day operations of NJCU's athletic facilities, including the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC) and the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex. She assists in the planning, organization and coordination of a variety of athletic and recreational activities. Additionally, she serves as the point person for all things when it comes to NJCU's Summer Camp, including overseeing the hire and management of counselors, coordination of activities and more.
Prior to that, she served as a graduate assistant for the women's soccer program and head coach Anthony Tuesta. She provided administrative support, managed social media, assisted in policy formation, mentored undergraduate student-athletes and more.
As an undergraduate, Mescavage spent two seasons with the Gothic Knights, anchoring their back line in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. She played and started in 27 games during that time for NJCU, tallying two goals over 2,218 minutes on the pitch. As a senior, she served as team captain. Prior to transferring to Jersey City, Mescavage played two seasons for Union County College in 2014 and 2015. She played in 27 games for the Owls over that time, making 19 starts between the midfield and backline. Mescavage notched 24 points during that time, including five goals.
The Bayonne native earned an associated degree in sports management from UCC in 2016 before earning two degrees from NJCU — a B.S. in business management in 2018 and a MBA in 2021. Mescavage also currently plays for North Jersey Alliance FC, a semi-professional soccer club that competes in the Garden State Soccer League (GSSL) and the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
