New Jersey City University freshman sweeper and center back MOSTAFA IBRAHIM (Cairo, Egypt/Elharam (Cairo, Egypt) is the first NJCU Men's Athlete of the Week of the 2010-11 season. The defender was also selected as the first New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week of the 2010 season after keying a defensive unit that went 2-1 with two shutouts and allowed just one goal in the first week of the year.

Ibrahim was the lone Gothic Knight to play all 270 minutes in the first three games of the year and his defensive effort was significant as NJCU limited its opposition to only 32 total shots and 13 on goal.

Most impressive was his play in the backfield against North Carolina Wesleyan at the Roger Taylor Classic on September 5. Against a NCWC team that defeated NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark 6-1 on the same field a day earlier, Ibrahim guided a defensive quartet that allowed just 15 shots and seven on goal.

In a 2-0 shutout win over Randolph College on September 4 in the opening round of the tournament, his defensive unit allowed just 12 shots and five on target.

On September 1, he started in NJCU’s season opening, 5-0 shutout of City College of New York, and was the anchor of a suffocating backfield as CCNY mustered just five shots and one on goal.

With Ibrahim on the field, NJCU is tied for the NJAC lead in fewest goals allowed per game (0.33). He is the first NJCU player to win the award since week 11 of the 2007 season.
